FRAME is an electronic chill-out music project from Portugal, created by Miguel Ribeiro in the town of Oliveira de Azeméis.

Since its inception in 1995, FRAME has evolved from a homegrown experiment into a mature artistic project with a unique sonic identity. Over the years, FRAME has built a rich discography of 15 home-edition records, always driven by the passion for creating immersive soundscapes and emotional atmospheres.

The project’s first major breakthrough came in 2002, with the event "Sons do Lago," where FRAME showcased a visionary performance combining music with dance, vocal performers, and visual effects. This event marked a turning point, leading to a more professional and serious approach to the project.

Shortly after, Mr. Wortex joined FRAME, bringing a new dimension with his live video projections. His visual creations became a fundamental part of FRAME's performances, enhancing the immersive experience for audiences.

Throughout the years, FRAME has performed at numerous events and festivals, delivering chilled moods, lush atmospheres, and glamorous ambiences. Memorable appearances at Utopia, Sinergia, Boom, and many others have left a lasting impression, shaping FRAME’s identity as a unique and evolving chill-out project.

FRAME was born in 1995 in Oliveira de Azeméis, Portugal, as a personal musical journey by Miguel Ribeiro. At that time, Miguel was composing tracks for home listening and sharing with friends, using a Roland D-10 synthesizer and a computer running the TRAX Sequencer.

Between 1995 and 1996, FRAME released its first home-produced songs, featuring raw, acid techno-inspired sounds. These early creations reflected Miguel's passion for electronic music and were heavily influenced by Portugal’s emerging rave culture. Between 1995 and 1998, iconic events such as "Feira Virtual" in Santa Maria da Feira, the "University Paradise Party" in Coimbra, and the underground "Tecnolandia" parties played a pivotal role in shaping FRAME's musical direction. These gatherings connected Miguel to the vibrant house and techno scenes, leaving a strong mark on his early works.

After 2000, FRAME underwent a stylistic transformation, embracing the deeper, more atmospheric sounds of psychedelic trance and psychedelic chill-out. This new influence expanded the project's sonic palette, leading to richer textures and more immersive compositions.

A significant milestone occurred in 2005/2006, when FRAME partnered with the Portuguese label and collective Quest4Goa. This collaboration brought FRAME into the heart of the trance community, with frequent performances on the chill-out stages of major trance parties and festivals. Joining Quest4Goa’s talented crew elevated the project’s presence and reinforced its role within Portugal’s psychedelic music scene.

A key element of FRAME’s live performances has always been the fusion of sound and visuals, creating immersive and multisensory experiences for the audience.

In 2002, FRAME's live shows reached a new level with the collaboration of Mr. Wortex, a visual artist and video performer. His work with live video projections, custom visual content, and real-time effects became an essential part of the FRAME live act, enhancing the emotional impact of each performance.

Together, FRAME and Mr. Wortex have developed a unique audiovisual identity, blending chilled electronic atmospheres with captivating visual narratives, ensuring that each live appearance is more than a concert — it's an audiovisual journey.

Over the years, FRAME has also collaborated with dancers, vocal performers, and other artists, always seeking to expand the sensory dimension of the project. These collaborations aim to create immersive environments where music, visuals, and human expression come together in harmony.

Whether performing in small clubs, art installations, or large open-air festivals, FRAME’s live acts are known for their rich visual aesthetics and emotional depth.

GAMELAN was created as a solo project with the specific purpose of naming a musical recording produced in 2000. The music was composed for a unique live show presented at the Convento de Alcobaça in Portugal, focusing on atmospheric and ambient soundscapes. 

INFLUENCE
Initiated in 2009 — Progressive & Groovy Beats
INFLUENCE is a project dedicated to progressive moods and groovy rhythms. It represents a different facet of L.Mig’s musical vision, with an emphasis on dynamic beats and evolving textures. 

ALIEN NAVIGATOR

ZURICK POUND

One of the earliest collaborations by Miguel Ribeiro, ZURICK POUND was founded together with Paulo Alegria in 1995. This partnership resulted in the release of two albums: Inner Trip Stretch the Wings Both albums reflect an experimental journey through electronic sounds, blending melodic elements with unique rhythmic structures.
